Sybil: Web-based software for comparative genomics

A new release of the strepneumo project (released previously as the sybil demo) is available on the downloads page of the project site . This site is up and running at http://strepneumo-sybil.igs.umaryland.edu

Development has been migrated to Subversion from CVS and a new release is available. Additionally there is new demo data that mirrors the demo data found on the demo strepneumo site. Changes in this new release can be found in the change log and download/installation instructions are available at the download page.

Sybil development is alive and well despite the lack of activity here. Many of the recent changes can be tracked in the CVS changelog. A new public site has been released with 10 Streptococcus pneumoniae genomes at strepneumo-sybil.igs.umaryland.edu. New documentation has been added to the Sybil wiki including new procedures for installation, data load and configuration. Updated this site's look/feel as well as it's content.

Improved the installation documentation and added a set of documented sample SQL queries for those interested in querying the chado_demo comparative database directly.

Updated the Sybil web site at http://sybil.sourceforge.net. The content is essentially unchanged, but the new layout is a little more appealing visually and relies less on HTML tables. The addition of a second CSS stylesheet also makes the site more printer-friendly.

Version 0.92 of the Sybil source code is now available on the downloads page. The live demonstration web site has been upgraded accordingly, and new links alongside the screenshots on the home page indicate which of the displays can be viewed on the live demo site.

Added the (inadvertently-omitted) official SourceForge.net logo to every page on the project site.

More screenshots have been added to the home page and the documentation page has been substantially improved.

Initial release of Sybil demo site and downloadable source code and sample database.

Sybil news page is established. Satellite news trucks begin lining Medical Center Drive in order to bring you the most up-to-date speculation on the developing story.
